How To Guide - 5 Ways to Create Success in a New Season

At the time of writing we're at the beginning of September - very much a new year moment for me. Not only is it the start of a new month but the last quarter of the year.

For many of you, it will be your busiest time or at least most crucial in terms of sales. But perhaps it's more of a reset moment, when you have the chance to rewrite the year a little and create some refreshed thinking. What does success look like for you?

Whether you're reading this in September or at the beginning of another season, here are some ideas and reminders about what we can do to make the very best of your new season to find the success you're looking for.

  1. Decide what success looks and feels like. It may be daft to say so, but understanding what you really want in your business and life really is the first step. It might be simple economics - you want to increase sales, profits or numbers of cutomers. Perhaps it's more about balance - enjoying the work your love while having time to enjoy it. Maybe things haven't quite gone to plan and you're ready for a reset and slightly new direction.

  2. Choose a key priority. There's very little sense in trying to achieve all of the above or more. Success is often easier to come by when we decide to focus our attention on one or two key elements of life and business.

  3. Understand where the change is. Success often requires something to change. This could be a practical change to your day, schedules or digital approaches or something more personal. Perhaps the change is in your mindset or the way you ask for help.

  4. Build a new routine. Creating a new routine around your desired success goal is often the best way to actually reach the success you're after. You understand what success looks and feels like for you, you've chosen your top priority and you understand the changes you need to make. Building in the tiny, daily steps you need to get there will help reduce overwhelm and remind you that all success comes one step at a time.

  5. Remember that success is what it feels like to you, not what anyone else tells you it should be or how Instagram depicts it. Stay in your lane, find like minded folks who get it and build a micro business you love a little more this new season.
